Utah Delights! . . . Taste . . . BYU Football . . . Family & Such!

Utah Delights

Zipped to Utah to share a quick visit with Justin, Elise and Tyler after Cali., on my way through Georgia and on to London.  Hooray for frequent flyer miles! ;)  Mike was able to join me for a day, too, as he was speaking to a group at Brigham Young University's Marriott Business School.

* Taste!

As an anniversary present, Justin and Elise treated Mike and I to a lovely evening with them at Taste -- Provo's elegant new food adventure with artisan chocolate, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings.  We learned the best ways to savor chocolate (with tips like letting it melt on your tongue, and rubbing the piece with your thumb to feel the silkiness of the ingredients), sampled chocolate bars from various regions around the world, and chose our favorites.  A number of types of olive oils and balsamics treated our palates, too.  Everything was definitely to our "taste"!  Thanks so much, Guys!

BYU Football Game -- Go Cougars!

Brigham Young's Cougars took on the Cincinnati  at a bit of a nail-biter-for-a-while game and I got to sit with the kids in the rockin'-never-sit-down student section -- how fun is that!?!  The only way to go!  The place was packed and enthusiasm was palpable as the team brought home a victory.  We got to sing the fight song bunches of times and cheered and clapped like the fans we are.  Sweet!

* Soccer, Cooking, Crafting & Such

Saturday morning found us in a familiar setting from years past -- the soccer field!  It was great to be able to see Justin and Tyler play soccer again!  Elise and I cheered their teams on (just guy teams or she would have been playing, too!) and we had a good time.  Way to play boys, way to play!

 A family time dinner with some of our Utah favorites was a treat when we caught up with the Ranck families!  Love them and our visits!

Girl time . . .  Breaking out some favorite family recipes, Elise and I cooked up a storm of pumpkin bread, blackberry pork chops and mango/coconut chicken.  Yum!  . . . Fall also meant pumpkins and cool crafting time for the two of us as we enjoyed creating decorations to deck the apartment. Painters with flair!  ;)  Got to catch some extra hugs with the boys, too!

. . . And Such:  What a wonderful week with more of my kids amidst their crazy school and work schedules.  We finagled time between it all to hit the BYU bookstore, munch lunches (Waffle Love - YUM!,  J Dawgs, Jamba Juice and Sodalicious), meet friends, run errands, play games and talk 'til the late hours.  So glad I could stay at least a few days!  Thanks all for hanging out with me and to J & E for being wonderful B&B hosts!
