Goooaaalll! "Fin"-ally!

Goooooaaaaaalllllll!  Hockey Stanley Cup Playoff Games!  "FIN"-ALLY!

Twenty five years -- ever since they became a franchise -- that's how long we have been San Jose Shark's hockey fans! No, really, like FANS!!

We used to go to games at the "Tank" (then HP Pavilion and now SAP Center) in San Jose when we lived there; that was easy. Once we moved to the Southern U.S., it got trickier to cheer them on in person.  We were able to attend some games when we lived in Nashville and later on the rare occasion when they played Atlanta's Thrashers.

After that, we traveled to some road games (like times we'd get the kids from school, make the 3+ hour drive to Nashville, Tennessee, hit the game against the Predators and then drive back home the same night -- yeah, kinda crazy!) and watched them on TV.

Now that gets interesting with the time difference between Atlanta and San Jose and many of the teams the Sharks play against.  Especially when that double overtime hits and we're looking at 2ish in our Eastern time zone morning!  But, true teal fans we are -- sometimes we even text each other all over the country while the games are on to cheer or boo!

So when the opportunity to actually see a couple of Stanley Cup Playoff Games finally featuring our beloved team (they usually choke in the playoffs and have had yet to get to the biggest hockey game), we just HAD to go!

Justin, Elise, my Mom, Mike and I hit Nashville and although few in number in that arena, we whooped and hollered our team in person during those games.  We were seriously hockey happy!  Except for the small fact that they didn't win either of the games we saw :(  , however, they made a huge run for the Cup and Ashley and JaNean were able to see a winning game in San Jose a few days later.

It was grand fun, and will only be surpassed in our hockey world when they actually bring home that Cup!
