Looking like a visiting space ship, the disk-shaped dome with yellow spiked projectiles protruding through the roof headed sky-ward is a unique design to be sure! The O2 Arena is the center of the entertainment complex (called the Dome) and includes the indoor arena, a music club, movie theaters, restaurants, and exhibition space.
Justin, Elise, Mike and I explored the spacey space and took in dinner and a movie, too, before heading to the gondola Emirates Sky Ride at sunset. It's a cable car link that crosses the River Thames and what a view! Fantastic colors as the sun sank down and such a treat to enjoy another look at this city of London, which we love!
What a thrill to nearly fly down the Thames River on a super sonic RIB speedboat. Described as an "exhilarating roller coaster on water experience," it didn't disappoint! Blasting James Bond music through sub woofers added an adrenaline rush.
Of course, we also had some slow-down time to cruise at a slower speed and take in the sights along the Thames - both historical and modern!
Such a way terrific way to travel!
Did I mention the UNNI (now OONI) - that pellet-burning, mini pizza oven we purchased at the Hampton Court Flower Show? Well, we've been putting it to good use outside on the flat's balcony to make delicious wood-fired pizzas for dinner and snacks and lunch and . . . you get the picture! We're fans of the quick-cooking, fresh-tasting pizza it turns out! Chef Mike has it down! YUM!
