Phase 10 -- Phases of living in London -- Experiences
Something's Fishy
. . . at the London Aquarium! While Ashley and Chris were away in Amsterdam and Paris, Mike and I were delighted to play with Jackson. What adventures and fun we had -- including exploring the Aquarium. He was completely taken with the fish, sharks, rays and such, but one of his favorite items was the "roun' and roun' " (wheel) he could manipulate, turn and spin on the pence (penny) press! Circle of life?!?
Balloonatics!
Balloon antics at Victoria Olympic Park's Areclor Mittal sculpture was a highlight of Mimi and Poohba time with Jax, too. It was sheer joy for him as he frolicked above the city skyline in hundreds of one of his very most favorite things -- balloons! The unusual sculpture was built for the London Olympics and looks quite a lot like tangled red licorice strings. Add a ton of Skittle-colored balloons and it was like playing in a Candyland of sorts!
For over a solid hour, we had the whole place to ourselves and we all ran and laughed and he squealed to his heart's content. Don't know if I've ever seen a child so completely thrilled -- it was captivating and hilarious and such a sweet time together. Of course, I was especially on the run, too -- who wouldn't want to dash around, kick, bounce and careen at top speed through every size and color-of-the-rainbow balloon heaven? Way better excercise that the gym! Ha!
Wasn't sure how we would secure a tearless exit when it closed and they sent us packing, but a promise of going to see the "diggers" (construction equipment) outside did the trick. Happily, we visited those big diggers for a while, too. Terrific toddler times for the grandparents! How we love this boy!
Easter
What a blessing to share Easter with Ashley, Chris and Jackson here with us, to talk of our Savior and His atonement, to share faith and testimony.
We also welcomed spring with the Bunny making the traditional jelly bean trail from Jackson's bed to his treats. Train p.j.s and his very own set of toy diggers were huge hits and decorating egg cookies was pretty fun (and tasty), too!
Happy times!
Shameless Fan!
Aren't grandkids fantastic? Little ones who reignite the wonder and carefree abandon of life and who giggle, smile and hug their way into your hearts -- you fall in love with them and time together is joy. At 2 years + a little, Jackson was excitement on wheels in all the time we had together in Europe. Have adored him from the first second we knew he was coming to Earth and treasure our time together. Had to share some fun and funny pix of this darling heart-stealer. Yes, I'm a shameless fan!
