Out quite early one morning, I watched the sky light up to a warm, bluish beauty with wisps of pink clouds here and there. Commenting to Mike that those wisps looked just like candy floss (a.k.a. cotton candy to Americans), I didn't think a thing of that statement until a few minutes later when I realized I was thinking and speaking and he was understanding in "British"! We laughed about it and then felt pleased we were fitting in so well we were getting the lingo automatically now!
A few minutes later after arriving at the bus terminal to catch our tour bus, I spied the sign above on an advertisement. After reading it, I quickly concluded that those did not like any "peaches" I've ever seen (and being from Georgia, I should know, right?!). Then I realized that "99 PEACH" was actually "99 P EACH" or "99 Pence Each."
Well, so much for speaking British! Bubble burst! hahaha! Mike said that since I immediately thought of peaches, it was just my Southern showing. I'll take that compliment! ;)
