I Love to See the Temple . . . Strolling Hyde Park . . . Picture This (The National Gallery)

Phase 10  -- Phases of Living in London -- Experiences

I Love to See the Temple

Such a spirit-lifting trip to the London Temple was a welcome respite to the hustle and bustle of city living and the opulent, historical sights we've been seeing.  The simple, quiet beauty of the temple, the spacious grounds and, of course, the peaceful interior and vital ordinances there were soul-nourishing.  I love to have a temple close enough to get to and the opportunity to serve and learn.  Even better to share it with sweet family!

Strolling Hyde Park

Being a bit of a hobbler -- turned my ankle a smidge -- didn't slow us down too much as we strolled a tiny piece of Hyde Park.  Its enormous grassy expanses are a welcome green adorned with over 4,000 trees, a lake, gardens, fountains, statuary, flowers, benches and enjoyers of all ages.

Covering 350 acres, it also features Speaker's Corner (where vocal orators expound on their opinions), the Diana Memorial Fountain, and Serpentine Bridge.  We visited with Peter Pan statue for a few minutes and reveled in the beauty of the day.

Picture This -- The National Gallery

We lost ourselves for hours in the famed and fabulous art within The National Gallery.  Fabulous architecture houses 2,300 beautiful works from the 13th to the 19th century.  These included pieces from medieval times to French impressionist paintings and altarpieces.

Some of our favorites were by Monet, Degas, Seurat and Van Gogh.  Stunning and captivating!  Such talent displayed.  . . . Truly, my stick figures pale!
